1.4006 is Martensitic stainless steel. It can be heat treated to a wide range of mechanical properties. In both the annealed and heat treated conditions, 1.4006 provides good corrosion resistance to many environments, as well as potable and mine waters. The safe temperature for continuous service of type 1.4006 is 650℃.

Type 1.4006 can be welded satisfactorily. When filler metal is used, it should be of similar analysis.
