1.5920 is a case hardening steel

Composition:

 

C Si  Mn p s Cr Mo Ni B
0,15-0,20 0,15-0,40 0,40-0,60 0,035 0,035 1,80-2,10 – 1,80-2,10 –

 

Hot working:

Forging temperature range: 1200-850℃

Note: Heat to 1230 ℃. Do not forge below 850.

Heat treatment:

Soft annealing Heat treatment to obtain a certain structure Heat treatment to obtain a certain tensile strength Carburize Core hardening intermediate annealing Surface hardening Temper
650-700 850-950 900-1000 900-950 840-870 630-650 800-830 170-210

 

Main application:

Plate wheels, driving pinions and highly stressed cog wheels
