This grade is medium-carbon, chromium-molybdenum steel. Available as hot worked and cold finished bar and seamless tube, this steel is intended for general purpose applications. Variations in heat treatment can obtain a broad range of strength and toughness. This steel has good hardenability, strength, wear resistance, toughness, and ductility. In the heat treated condition, they offer good strength and toughness for moderately stressed parts. This grade is available in forging quality, aircraft quality, and premium aircraft quality steel.
