1.1191 C45

 

This grade is used when greater strength and hardness is desired in the as-rolled condition. This medium-carbon steel can be hammer forged. This respond to heat treatment, and flame and induction hardening, but is not recommended for carburizing or cyaniding. When special practices is employed, weldability is fair. Die forging and hot upsetting of this grade is good to excellent.

Hot working:

Forging temperature range: 1100-850℃

Note: Heat to 1200 ℃. Do not forge below 850.
