1.7237 is a case hardening steel. Cr-Mo-steel. It is a high quality Quenched and Tempered Alloy Structural steel.

Hot working:

Forging temperature range: 1200-850℃
 
Note: Heat to 1200 ℃. Do not forge below 850.
 
Heat treatment:

 

Soft annealing Heat treatment to obtain a certain structure Heat treatment to obtain a certain tensile strength Carburize Core hardening intermediate annealing Surface hardening Temper
680-700 850-900 900-1000 840-880 820-850 650-680 810-830 150-180
