This steel is a Heat-treatable steel for primary forming into wrought products. Cited properties is appropriate for the normalized condition. It has a low thermal conductivity among wrought carbon or non-alloy steel. In addition, it has a moderately low ductility and a moderately high tensile strength.

Hot working:

Forging temperature range: 1100-850℃

Note: Heat to 1200 ℃. Do not forge below 850.
